Tuesday 8th October  – Windsurf **** The Manor at Felixstowe – Rain first thing, then sunny periods.

Foil – 18.89  knot max, 17.96 knot ave, 13.24  knot hour, 16.83 knot mile, 53.74 km., 14.63 knot alpha. 

Starboard Freeride 150 and a Evolution Freeride foil with a Tushingham Bolt 5.5.

After missing yesterdays breeze due visiting my poor old Dad in hospital but on the plus side Mag and I had a lovely walk around Holywell Park first I was keen to get out on the water today to make the most of a nice breeze from the SSW, mild too. We had some rain first thing but that was short lived and the sun soon returned, being a tight arse billy no mates I parked at Squiz Lane again at 9.45 taking Mag so she could walk home via Lidl:) The flood gate is now closed so you had to lift your gear over which is no problem and the board was soon ready with my big foil and with the slight onshore breeze gusting to around 20 knots I rigged my 5.5 which was pretty much perfect apart from a short while when the wind eased back. Launching at 10.30 into lovely sunshine I was quickly up and flying, mainly mellow sailing as the sea was fairly big to go fast, I had a long 2.50 run out to the shipping channel to check I could get upwind OK returning towards Landguard beach before heading off up the coast, 3 gybes later after some really cool long runs I was turning in the smooth water in front of our launch beach at The Dip. I then had a really cool beat back, after sailing 1.50 miles out I made it past the pier which is when the wind dropped, a couple of slow floundering runs before the wind returned and I enjoyed three long runs out, the the tide getting high and the sea state getting bigger I decided to call it a day, after all I had sailed 33 miles. I was packing up when a chatty man spoke to me for an hour which made me late for our Tuesday visit to see Mary but I got there in the end and still had my cuppa with chocolate cake, top day:) 
No sailing tomorrow as heading over to Ipswich again to do some gardening at my Dads with Mag and my sister:)
