Sunday 28th May - Windsurf **** The Dip at Felixstowe – sunny and warm.

Foil – 18.35 knot max, 17.26 knot ave, 13.32 knot hour, 16.31 knot mile, 52.78 km., 14.10 knot alpha.

Starboard Freeride 150 and an Evolution Freeride foil with a Tushingham Thunderbird 6.5.

Having missed a few sessions lately I was keen to get out today, this being the start of a run of North Easterlies but todays forecast was a little hit and miss with the wind supposed to build during the day? This left me time to do my exercises in the sunny back garden then after a late breakfast and the breeze building, I decided to head down to The Dip to make the most of low water which was just before midday. The conditions looked perfect when I arrived with two foilers on big race kit ready to sail, I quickly set-up my foil board and rigged 6.5 which proved ideal for a two hour plus session in the sunshine. After a run of river foiling it was great to be out on the sea again, it was super smooth close in but quite big out to sea, the wind was with tide and my sail was a little under to risk a run down the coast as the beat back might have been a struggle so I enjoyed loads of long runs out to sea. After falling on the first gybe things then improved, not all flying but OK considering now big the sea was about a mile and half out:) It was lovely to be out in the sunshine and was joined by a fin sailor and a winger. It is looking like a tad more wind tomorrow so might even get out on the fin, could be busy here in Felixstowe!
