My 71st Birthday :)

Wow what a great day, Mag woke me at 6.45 to say there was a lovely red sky so I quickly put my shorts and a jumper on and drove down to Felixstowe pier still in my slippers. I got there just in time to see the most amazing sunrise with the sky on fire, I quickly snapped a few pics and headed home to send them to the weather and post them on Facebook and was lucky enough to get one on the weather on BBC Breakfast, also I got many hundreds of likes and Birthday wishes, top start to the day!
There was a good breeze from the South and sunny in the morning, with family coming in the afternoon I was keen to get the windsurfing out of the way so after opening Mags cool presents I headed off to Levington arriving at the marina at 10.30. I thought several sailors were coming later so I reversed my trailer in so I could get away easily. There was loads of water and a good breeze so I quickly set up my board with my big foil as I expected the runs to be fairly short so it would be easier to keep flying and took a chance with my 5.2 which proved ideal for most of the session:) I launch at 11 and enjoyed a top couple of hours enjoying the lovely River Orwell in the sunshine, for the main part just me, geese flying overhead and a few racing yachts with several wingers and a foiler not arriving until much later! I had some top runs in front of the marina slowly beating down the river getting some nice gybes, I did around 75 in all and managed to stay out of the water:) I did get a little way down the river but the wind went patchy so returned to the corner where the wind was more constant and the water was nice and smooth too:) I didn’t push things too hard as I had a bit of an achy arm after a couple of jabs at the doctors yesterday and was pleased with my speeds today considering I spent a lot of the two hour session beating! I then decided to call it a day so headed in, took a few pics, packed up, showered and headed for home as it clouded over:( Arriving home before two, had a nice chat with the neighbors before the Grandson Arlo and his Dad rang to wish me a happy birthday before Dan and Jay arrived with the lovely Maeva arrived, she was a vision in pink with her frilly tutu, just  lovely:) We had a lovely afternoon/evening with snacks and a lovely birthday cake homemade by Maggie:) Maeva was once again the star of the show with kisses all round, what a top day:)
