Thursday 1st June - Windsurf **** The Dip at Felixstowe – cloudy start then sunny periods.

Foil – 18.02 knot max, 16.90 knot ave, 10.56 knot hour, 14.42 knot mile, 42.14 km., 14.42 knot alpha.

Starboard Freeride 150 and a Evolution Freeride foil with a Tushingham Thunderbird 6.5.

Was keen to start the new month off with a session but with low water around 4 I was in no hurry to get down to The Dip leaving me free to do my exercises, indoors as cloudy and not overly warm! I headed down just before one taking Mag with me so she could have her daily walk home. Conditions looked good, probably not as windy as yesterday so set my foil up with the intention of using a 6.5, it picked up and was about to rig 5.6 but it increased further so I rigged 6.5 and put my 115 lt. fin board on the beach. By the time I had put my wetsuit on it had eased so went out on the foil with the 6.5 to check out the strength, I could have probably sailed with a 5.6 but the bigger sail seemed OK so after a couple of runs I set off broad down the coast. The sea soon became quite challenging especially further out and gybing was not easy but I made it down to The Manor, just past the Martello tower before turning to beat back inn sunshine now, just lovely:) It was difficult foiling conditions with the sea fairly big but I made it back OK in 5 tacks:) I then had some nice runs in smooth water in front of The Dip getting my fastest speed, then the wind turned slightly off which made getting back to the beach a pain, luckily I was not far from shore so made it alright. Packed up and home, with the van in the garage tomorrow and days and days of NE wind coming I might actually have a day off!

June has started well for my pics with one on ITV,s About Anglia for the second day running, I was also on the cover of the Spotlight on Felixstowe Mag and 3 In Touch Mags, well chuffed:)
