There was another good sailing forecadt today, a 15 to 20 breeze, starting WSW before swinging to the South, sunny and hot too but being Friday Maeva day I had a short opportunity to get on the water so I headed down to Squiz Lane at The Manor end in Felixstowe just after 8 this morning as I had to be home at 11.30 to take Jay and Dans cat to the vet and pick-up the Granddaughter, the lovely Maeva for the day! I quickly set-up the foil board and rigged my 6.5. I headed out around 8.30 with the wind WSW, slightly off but it had turned light and I had several floundering runs hoping that the wind would build! Then as if by magic it picked up to around 15 knots so I went for a fast hour by doing long runs out to Wadgate Post in fairly smooth water in brilliant sunshine, warm too, just perfect! I was not sure how long I had, should have worn a watch, I had made 6 runs out and really wanted to do eight but the wind went a little patchy but it picked up enough for me to do one last two mile run out to sea so in the end I sailed 25 with a 13.78 hour and I landed at 11 which gave me enough time to pack up and head home to pick up Mag! The vet visit went well for Fanta a big ginger cat, we then took Jay home and we went home to have a lovely afternoon with Maeva, a real honey! I made lunch and we had a brilliant time in the garden were Maeva once again soaked Poor Granddad soak me in water:) We then did books and puzzles before taking Maeva home and heading so some old friends for a Chinses to celebrate a 60th Birthday and Mag helped decorate a large cake for tomorrows party and we didn’t leave until 10! Busy, tiring but fantastic day:)
