Tuesday 22nd October  – Windsurf **** The Manor at Felixstowe  – sunny periods and mild.

Foil – 18.41  knot max, 17.09 knot ave, 13.82  knot hour, 16.53 knot mile, 33.88 km., 14.27 knot alpha.

Starboard Freeride 150 and a Evolution Freeride foil with a Tushingham Storm 6.5.

I was tempted by a session at Levington but after doing my exercises I checked HHA weather and there was a good breeze from the SW side shore so I decided to drive down to The Manor to check out the conditions. I parked easily at Squiz Lane and the conditions looked lovely with sunny periods and a pretty smooth sea, the tide was coming in so I had wind against tide making it ideal. I was ready to go by 12.15 with my big foil and 6.5 which proved perfect:) The wind had turned WSW by the time I launched but I reached the wind 400m out and the first few runs were as good as Felixstowe foiling can be, whizzing over the small swell gybing around Wadgate post and then had some nice long runs ending up at the Spa theatre with the wind now gusting to 20 knots for awhile which made me head back. The beat was good with the sea swell increasing! With the wind now cross off I had a few runs out towards the shipping channel in lovely sunshine, nice and mild, its getting to the time of year where my open sea sailing days are getting number as it starts to cool down for the winter! The wind then went light so I slowly sailed in to call it a day, top session and was home in time to go and join Mag for a cuppa and cake at our old friend Marys:)
