Wednesday 11th September  – Windsurf **** The River Orwell at Levington –  sunny periods with some light rain.

Foil – 19.01  knot max, 17.50 knot ave, 8.77  knot hour, 15.24 knot mile, 32.28 km., 15.01 knot alpha.

Starboard Freeride 150 and a Severne 1000 with a Naish Nalu 4.7.

After yesterdays goomy, gusty session on the River Orwell at Levington Marina I was hoping for a better session today as a better direction today and some lovely sunshine too. Once again I had time to do my exercises in the sunny back room and as there is a lull on things to do in Mags garden she decided to come with me so I could drop her off at the Wimpey houses in Trimley so she could walk down to the marina, for a relax in the van and lunch:) I arrived at the marina at 10.20 and conditions looked good as the tide still had an hour to go before low water the river was still pretty flat with a good breeze from the west blowing down the river gusting easily over 25 knots so I rigged my 4.7 which proved good for most of the session, you always get a few lulls when using a small sail but boy is it good when powered up and it is absolutely brilliant for gybing :) Launching at 10.50 by the marina entrance I was up and flying straight away, being low water I was limited to mainly short runs ac ross the river where the wind was strongest  but my sail was too small down the river towards the docks, never mind I just enjoyed the gybe feast in fron of the marina doing at least 65 and was lucky enough not to go in the river once:) I had fun doing loads of gybes around the marina entrance bouy and a fishing boat moored across the river, I even had a few good runs up the entrance channel where I had to tack as not wide enough to gybe, Mag got some nice pics and didn’t even have to get out of the van! I had been out on the water over two hours and was getting knackered so decided to call it a day, I had only sailing 20 miles but the runs were short with a good swell running and some good gusts coming through mainly in sunshine with just the odd spot of rain. Mag had enjoyed her walk and after a quick shower we enjoyed our lunch and I managed to pack up before we had a quick shower, top day:)
