I was keen to get out today after missing the last two days where the wind picked up late in the afternoon, with the wind in the north the River Stour at Wrabness was my only option but high water was at 6 in the afternoon sadly:( I did my exercises before dropping Mag off at our sons to help with their garden, I then drove through Trimley to see the old vehicles heading to Felixstowe seafront front Ipswich. I arrived at Wrabness around one and set up my foil board, sail choose was harder as the wind was all over the place but with wind gusting to 20 knots I took a chance with my 5.5, to be honest whatever sail I rigged today would not have been right as the wind was horrendously gusty! When I returned in my wetsuit to launch the wind had picked up to around 25 knots but by the time I had waded out to deep water it had gone:( I floundered around for a while and then I did get a run of gusts and actually had some nice long runs deep into Holbrook bay having a really great run back before it dropped again so wobbled back to call it a day, not my best session! I packed up and headed for home at 5.45 to see how Mag got on, there is a run of NE winds next week with tomorrow being particularly breezy with a good low tides!
