Monday 13th  November  – Windsurf * River Orwell at Levington Marina  –  sunny and mild.

Foil – 19.13 knot max, 16.13 knot ave, 4.10 knot hour, 12.31 knot mile, 10.62 km., 10.22 knot alpha.

Starboard Freeride 150 and a Tushingham Bolt 5.5 and Naish Nalu 4.25.

With Storm Deli, yet another named storm hitting the UK again today I was not sure if it would be worth risking a windsurfing session??? But with the wind only around 20 first thing I decided to head over to Levington arriving around 10.15, there was plenty of water with an onshore breeze only gusting to 17 mph so I rigged 5.5 to go with my foil board. I quickly realisedI had made a big mistake as I set off from the beach as the wind had really picked up, the River Orwell quickly chopped up too:( I madit to the middle of the river but was relieved to get back to the beach!!! I then rigged my smallest small an old Naish Nalu 4.25 and set off again. I struggled to get flying with the small sail to start with but it quickly picked up being pretty overpowered most of the time, certainly not helped by the lumpy river! I had a few runs across the river but it was exhausting so for safety’s sake I decided to call it a day, which was a good move as I gotgusts to 45 mph on the beach! Pack up, shower and home for lunch, I might try again tomorrow but we are having the Granddaughter so will mak my mind up in the morning as I really am due a good session now, its been awhile!
