Tuesday 19th March  – Windsurf *  The Manor at Felixstowe  –   Sunny start then cloudy.

Foil – 18.14 knot max, 12.33 knot ave, 2.48 knot hour, 16.20 knot mile, 9.08 km., 0.00 knot alpha.

Starboard Freeride 150 and a Tushingham Bolt 5.5m.

The foreast promised so much and delivered nothing, it was supposed to be sunny with 15/20 knots from the south and it looked good first thing with the tide dropping and gusting to 20 knots so headed down to The Manor after breakfast at 9.20. Mag came so she could walk back and I quickly set up my foil board with 5.5, shame the flood gate is still closed and does not open until the 1st of May! On the water at 10 and had a really good first run out to Wadgate thinking I might have rigged too big but things soon went to pieces as I gybed the wind dropped, I did get flying back to the beach but had lost several groynes and was below the Martello tower and that was it as the sunn and wind disappeared! I slowly beat back along the beach before coming ashore, it was not enough for my 6.5 so after waiting a few minutes I decided to call it a day and pack up. I made a detour to the view point to take a few pics before heading for home, another complete waste of time and the next spell of wind comes with a drop in temperature!
